ABOUT US

** With early beginnings in Pittsfield MA, Mark A. Formel Sr. has created a lucrative, prosperous business - literally from scratch.
Starting out with a 1946 Autocar flatbed hauler, then moving up to a 1986 Dodge flatbed hauler and one employee, Mark hauled cars, repaired cars, sold used vehicles, and hauled scrap to a recyling center in Greenfield.

Located in Western Massachusetts, Mark did what ever he could to get his business off the ground. In 1982, he moved to an industrial-zoned, 100 X 100' building which was built by his father, Philip A. Formel Sr. in 1962. Housed on about 7 acres, this is now Formel Motor Company, Inc., a well-established business on 21 Van Deusenville Road, Great Barrington.
In 1988 Mark’s brother, Brian D. Formel, joined with him and FMC grew with the brother's inspirational ideas. The brothers share all aspects of yard and run it to its fullest capacity. They make up a well-balanced team which keeps it running like a well-oiled machine. FMC has had a staff of parts counter sales, parts dismantlers, drivers, and mechanics for many years now. Currently FMC is running two flatbed haulers, two cat payloaders, a car crusher, a delivery truck and a new state-of-the-art scale.

FMC has recently installed a new, state-of-the-art scale to purchase scrap. Customers can drive in all their scrap metal and weigh in and we will give the best prices.

FMC is also online 24/7 for parts request using the Hollender system, an established Nationwide Parts Locating service; as well as online at carparts.com. Reaching coast to coast and overseas, we will ship anywhere and we do local deliveries. We assure you that you will get friendly, helpful service and low prices.
